Intro to Gaming on July 17
Ready to level up? In this introduction to gaming we'll explore some of the basic concepts of video games and gaming. We'll review the benefits of gaming and take a look at some popular games and consoles, including Nintendo Switch, XBox, and VR headsets. We'll also demonstrate where to find free games and start playing! This talk is presented by Connections Area Agency on Aging and Senior Planet Partner Resources.
Board Game-a-Palooza on July 12
Pop into Aalfs Downtown Library for a relaxing afternoon of board games from the Library's new board game collection! A variety of popular board and card games - from classic family games to modern favorites - will be waiting for you! All ages and skill levels are welcome at this drop-in event.
Wiggle, Giggle, Play! Toddler Game Day! on July 11
Toddlers and their adult caregivers are invited to join us for fun and games at the Library! After we read a story or two, little ones can participate in obstacle course challenges like walking on the balance beam, crawling through "tunnels," and a bean bag toss - all perfect for exploring large motor skills. Registration required.
July’s Open Book Club: Sharks Don’t Sink by Jasmin Graham
From a marine biologist and co-founder of Minorities in Shark Sciences, a powerful debut about the uplifting story of a young Black scientist’s challenging journey to flourish outside the traditional confines of academia, inspired by her innate connection to nature’s most misunderstood animal—the shark.

Curious young minds experience the magic that stories offer, build vocabulary, and develop early literacy skills for future reading success!
