Donating to the Friends of the Library Book Sale
**The Sioux City Public Library is not currently accepting donations.**
Please check back in August, as we hope to begin accepting donations at that time.
Thank you for considering a donation to the Friends of the Sioux City Public Library. Most items sold at the Book Sale begin as a donation, and proceeds from the sale support the Library’s collections, services, and programs.
The Friends of the Library Book Sale would not be possible without your donations and the generosity of our volunteers who help staff the event.
What can I donate?
We welcome the following items:
- Books – fiction and nonfiction, for children and adults
- Audiobooks on CD
- Music CDs
- Vinyl records
Items NOT accepted:
- VHS tapes
- Cassette tapes
- Condensed books
- Household items or other non-book donations
Materials with damage (including tearing or highlighting/underlining) or in dirty condition (including water damage, stains, mold, odors, insects, dirt, grime, or pet hair) are NOT accepted and will be sent back with the donor. The Library incurs a cost for items that must be disposed of or recycled.
Where can I donate?
Donations may be dropped off at the Aalfs (Downtown) Library Monday through Friday between 9 am – 3 pm.
