Library Board of Trustees
Appointed by the City Council, the Board of Trustees determines the Library’s operation policies, selects the Library Director, creates the Library’s annual funding request, budgets funds appropriated by the City Council, authorizes all major expenditures, carries out duties assigned by State and local ordinances, seeks funding for the Library’s needs and services, and promotes the Library in the community.

The Friends of the Sioux City Public Library
The Friends of the Library organize a used book sale each spring and use the proceeds to fund Library projects. Since 1965, financial support from the Friends has helped pay for print and recorded media, children’s programming and outreach, computers, and online resources, enabling the Library to provide excellent service to the community. The Friends of the Sioux City Public Library Board President is Brendan Todt.
