January’s Open Book Club Title: Walk Through Fire by Yasmine S. Ali
On the night of February 22, 1978, a devastating freight train derailment drastically altered Waverly, Tennessee, and its place in history. This was one of the worst train explosions of the twentieth century, killing 16 people, injuring hundreds more, and causing millions of dollars in damage.
1st Saturday Family Storytime: Pajama-Rama on January 6
Jammies in the Library? You bet! Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite stuffed animal to the Library for a fun and snuggly storytime! We will read books, sing songs and finish with a pajama-riffic craft. All ages welcome. Free parking on weekends! Registration is required.
Crafternoons at the Library: December 27 – 30
Looking for something fun to do during Christmas break? Crafternoons at the Library have just what you need! The Maker Cart will be filled with supplies. Children, teens and their families are invited to join us in making the craft of the day, or they may choose to make their own creation using the Library’s wide variety of supplies and tools! All supplies will be provided.
The Sioux City Reads 2024 title is Take What You Need by Idra Novey!
The Sioux City Reads program, a community-based reading initiative where a book chosen by Sioux Cityans becomes the basis for a series of programs, discussions, and events; returns with a new title for 2024: Take What You Need by Idra Novey.

Each week on Tuesday at 11 am at the Perry Creek Library or Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Morningside Branch Library join us for a fun and interactive storytime for ages 0 through 5! Curious young minds experience the magic that stories offer, build vocabulary, and develop early literacy skills for future reading success!
