July’s Open Book Club: The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. As these characters’ stories overlap and deepen, it becomes clear how much the people who live on the margins struggle and what they must do to survive. There are two in-person sessions each month and a virtual option for those who can't make the in-person meetings!
Family Yoga on June 29 at the Downtown Library (Registration FULL)
Renew your mind, body and spirit in this session for the whole family! Learn basic yoga poses and mindfulness exercises to keep you grounded and healthy. We’ll share tools like stretching and movement to bring more joy into your day during this hour-long session. Registration is required.

Come in from the heat to enjoy a free movie on the big screen. We'll provide the popcorn, courtesy of Jolly Time Popcorn. Feel free to bring your own beverage (must have a lid or resealable cap).

Each week on Tuesday at 11 am at the Perry Creek Library or Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Morningside Branch Library join us for a fun and interactive storytime for ages 0 through 5! Curious young minds experience the magic that stories offer, build vocabulary, and develop early literacy skills for future reading success!
