The Sioux City Public Library’s summer hours have begun. The Aalfs Downtown Library will be closed Sundays for the rest of the summer and Sunday hours will resume after Labor Day.
All locations will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Vote for the 2025 Sioux City Reads Book!
Join the Sioux City Public Library for Sioux City Reads, a community-based reading initiative where Sioux Cityans are involved every step of the way – from book selection to completing challenges and attending book discussions. Now through November 30, cast your vote to help select the next Sioux City Reads title. Copies of each book are available for check out at any Sioux City Public Library location.
Monday Matinee @ Morningside: November 25 at 1 pm
Look for a different movie every Monday at 1 pm through Memorial Day. November 25th Film: A widowed cleaning woman takes a well-deserved trip to Europe in this 2022 historical comedy drama.
Baby Storytime on November 23
For adult parents/caregivers and babies ages 0-12 months. Join us for a 20-minute early literacy experience just for the little ones! Babies learn and engage with rhymes, songs, books, and bounces. After Storytime, enjoy play and social time. Comfy clothes suggested. Feel free to bring a blanket for you and baby to sit on the floor together. Chairs are also available. Free parking on weekends.
Career Cruiser at the Morningside Branch Library on November 21
Looking for a new job, career change, or tips on how to ace an interview? Career Cruiser will be at the Morningside Branch Library on Thursday, November 21 from 10 am to 2 pm. It offers resume assistance, job search resources, education and training directly to your community at no charge to the public.

Each week on Tuesday at 11 am at the Perry Creek Library or Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Morningside Branch Library join us for a fun and interactive storytime for ages 0 through 5! Curious young minds experience the magic that stories offer, build vocabulary, and develop early literacy skills for future reading success!
