Puzzle Competitions on March 28 and March 31 – Registration FULL
Register your team of 4-6 puzzlers and work to complete a 750 piece puzzle for a chance to win prizes! All teams will complete the same puzzle. Puzzles are designed for adults, but families with older children are welcome to form a team. Smaller teams may be combined with other teams at the event. * Due to demand, groups may only register for one puzzle event.
STEM Youth Events (Ages 4 – 12) on March 28
Get registered for these STEM-themed events (for Ages 4-12) happening at the Aalfs Downtown Library on Saturday, March 28. Ages 4-8 will explore coding concepts with the Library's Bee Bots and Ages 9-12 will build model electrical circuits using Spintronics.
Video Presentation: Memories of Five Nisei on March 25
On Wednesday, March 25 at 6 pm, join us for a video presentation: Memories of Five Nisei at the Aalfs Downtown Library. Video Summary: Five second-generation Japanese Americans share memories of their lives, with a focus on the World War II internment camp experience. The Nisei speakers, who are all in their 80s and 90s, will also compare their camp experiences with the detention centers in Texas for Central American refugees.
Film Screening: Farewell to Manzanar on March 22
On Sunday, March 22 at 2 pm, join us for a film screening: Farewell to Manzanar. Film Summary: After the attack on Pearl Harbor, seven-year-old Jeanne Wakatsuki, her family and 11,000 other Americans of Japanese descent and their immigrant parents are imprisoned in the internment camp Manzanar in California.

Each week on Tuesday at 11 am at the Perry Creek Library or Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Morningside Branch Library join us for a fun and interactive storytime for ages 0 through 5! Curious young minds experience the magic that stories offer, build vocabulary, and develop early literacy skills for future reading success!
