With lyrical precision, psychological directness, resonating symbolic power, and a rage that is at once unrelenting and compassionate, Baldwin tells the story of the stepson of the minister of a storefront Pentecostal church in Harlem one Saturday in March of 1935. Originally published in 1953, Baldwin said of his first novel, ”Mountain is the book I had to write if I was ever going to write anything else.”
Starting July 1, the Sioux City Public Library will allow resident card holders to borrow from our new Library of Things! A Library of Things gives residents a chance to try something new without investing in it first and promotes sustainability in allowing residents access to seldomly used household items. The Library of Things collection at the Sioux City Public Library will provide new resources for residents to explore areas of interest, try out new leisure activities, and gain access to items where cost or storage space may be an obstacle.

We'll review the benefits of gaming and take a look at some popular games and consoles, including Nintendo Switch, XBox, and VR headsets.
