The goal of Family Storytime is to instill a love of books and reading in the very young. For many children, Storytime is their first group experience. Children can learn much from the stories shared here and from interacting with others their own age. In addition to the benefit of developing social skills, building vocabulary, and learning to match spoken sounds with written words, curious young minds experience the magic that stories offer. Reading aloud introduces the idea that stories are worth telling, that books are worth sitting down and listening to, and that the Library is a great place to explore the world with others.
