What to do if you are unable to access a Sioux City Public Library database:

1.  Check your account.
Do you have a full-service borrower’s card? Some types of library cards cannot access all of the Library’s electronic resources.

Fix: Call the Library at 255-2933 x 211 and verify your level of access.

2. Is your account in good standing? 
Library accounts might be blocked until problems are cleared up. 

Fix: Call the Library at 255-2933 x 211 and verify your account status.

3. Check your computer settings. 
Personal firewall software can interfere with the authentication process. This might be the problem if you are prompted for a user name and password.

Fix: You can temporarily disable your Internet security settings and try to connect to the database in order
to test this. For the long term, configure your Internet security software to trust sites associated with Library databases. The list below details the databases and Internet domains that need to be configured as trusted in order to allow authentication.

4. "Authentication failed due to insufficient credentials" 
This message may appear when trying to access a database from a site that is unrecognized by the database's server. Creating a bookmark to directly link to a database's website may not work.

Fix: Go to http://www.siouxcitylibrary.org/online.htm and attempt your connection from there.
