Meeting Room Policy

  1. The meeting rooms will be reserved, on a first-come, first-served basis, when a signed copy of the meeting room reservation form is returned to the Library. The person in charge of the meeting must sign the form, thereby agreeing to follow established guidelines.

  2. A copy of the reservation form will be returned as a receipt.

  3. Priority use is given to Library-sponsored events.

  4. Meetings must be open to the public. Organizations may not charge admission fees other than membership dues. Exceptions may be made, at the discretion of the Library Director, for educational courses.

  5. There is no charge for non-profit organizations to use the room. For-profit organizations may use
the meeting rooms for a fee of $35.00 per meeting.

  6. The Gleeson Room is available for interactive conferences via the Iowa Communications Network. ICN broadcast charges, payable directly to the ICN, are the responsibility of the organization hosting the meeting. Users of the Library’s ICN connection must follow all ICN rules and regulations.

  8. Meetings are scheduled to end 15-minutes before the Library closes. Groups will be billed $25.00 for not vacating the room by closing time if previous arrangements have not been made. Meetings in the Gleeson Room may extend up to 1 hour past closing if organizations make arrangements ahead of time and pay a $15.00 custodial fee before the meeting starts.

The fact that an organization is permitted to meet at the Library does not in any way constitute an endorsement of that group’s policies or beliefs. Groups may not use the Sioux City Public Library name in any way that implies Library endorsement or sponsorship of the group’s activities.
