Enhancing Library Excellence Today, Endowing Library Excellence for Tomorrow

The Sioux City Public Library Foundation is a non-profit, public benefit corporation that supports the Sioux City Public Library mission and benefits the community by receiving, managing and dispersing funds to ensure Library excellence. Your contribution is tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

If you wish to make a donation toward the purchase of print and audio books or other collection materials, if you wish to give a memorial in honor of a loved one, or if you would like to further the Library mission through a gift to the Foundation Endowment, please email or call Library Director Betsy Thompson and visit with her about what you have in mind.

Dear Friends:

Our Public Library is a remarkable resource—connecting people with ideas for learning and leisure across our diverse community. I want you to know that your past contributions to the Library Foundation have been put to very good use. How so? 

Donations to the Foundation enabled us to distribute $60,000 last year to fund a variety of needs not met by tax dollars. Sioux City Public Library Foundation funds support:

• community outreach and volunteer opportunities in our Libraries.
• improved customer service through staff development.
• new technology for the Online Branch Library that is open 24/7. Foundation funds support subscriptions to the auto repair database, to the NoveList reading guide, and to the downloadable audiobook service which will debut in February 2008.
• additions to the book collections. The Library saw a 4.5% annual increase in checkouts last year.

The Public Library is a welcoming place where people from all walks of life may learn and grow by accessing the books, recordings and resources that enhance everyone’s quality of life.
